Refugee Week 2023 is fast approaching and so are the many opportunities for you to get involved and to show your support for refugees and people seeking asylum who live in our community.
CARAD will be running and supporting a number of functions-we have a movie night showing the award winning documentary Freedom St, the inaugural FareGo long table dinner fundraiser, a wonderful art exhibition featuring portraits of former CARAD clients, and a joint public forum with the wonderful Grandmothers for Refugees highlighting the lived experience of people who seek safety and refuge within Australia.
Refugee Week is also a great opportunity for you to do something within your own networks. Host a morning tea! Write a letter to your MP! Organise a fundraiser! Join CARAD! There are so many ways that you can demonstrate that you choose to be a good global citizen and that refugees and people seeking asylum are welcome here.
